For the next meeting of the Equity Minded Reading Group (EMRG), we will discuss “The Secret Thoughts of Successful Women and Men: Why Capable People Suffer from Imposter Syndrome and How to Thrive in Spite of it”, by Valerie Young, EdD. Dr. Young examines the common feelings of self-doubt that often plague very competent people and hold them back from achieving their full potential. This book offers tools to move beyond feelings of inadequacy and into the belief in and appreciation for your success.

We will meet in person on Wednesday, July 24th from 12:00-1:00pm in Gilmer Hall Room 303. Thanks to the generosity of the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs (OGPA), complimentary copies of the book are available and will be delivered by UVA messenger mail, and lunch will be provided at the meeting. Please sign up to attend the meeting and request a book and/or lunch by clicking  THIS LINK

As always, please feel free to join us if this topic interests you, even if you may not be able to complete the entire reading in time. Our aim is to raise consciousness and empower ourselves to be a positive force for equity, diversity, and inclusion, and we welcome everyone, including those who just want to listen and learn.

Thank you, and we hope to see you in July!
